Book One: A Wrinkle in Time by: Madeleine L'Engle
Results: 3.5 Stars.

I now have clarity as to why this book troubled me as a 5th grader.
This book is quite deep in its philosophy and vocabulary. I was shocked to discover a mix of theology throughout the book too. Reading it as an adult brings a whole different perspective.

All through out this book I kept saying to myself, "Why in the world would my teacher have chose to read this book out loud to the class?". If only I could ask her now what a great conversation that would be. Still my curiosity is fulfilled.

Moving on to the next book- Eat that Frog by: Brian Tracy

Cheers,
Stephanie

Other Recommended Books I am reading this month:
Good to Great by: Chip Ingram ; Humility by: Andrew Murray ; Harry Potter 5 by: J.K. Rowling ; Food, Inc. Edited by: Karl Weber

  2. Hey Steph,
I agree with you on this book. I remember my fifth grade teacher reading this book aloud to us- and I remember enjoying the time, but that is about it. As an English teacher, I know that this is in the cannon as a "literary classic" but I haven't gone back to read it now that I am older. I guess I need to. I have forgotten many things and think I will be pleasantly surprised by it. Thanks for the great reminder!

  3. You are welcome girl. Isn't that interesting that your fifth grade teacher read it to you too. Hope you read it again and let me know what you think. Knowing you it will probably take you a day or few hours to read :)Thanks for the comment.
